Alanna and Sean have quickly become two of my favorite people. The love they have for each other and their family and friends is infectious and makes you immediately want to be close to them. When they reached out to me saying they resonated with my natural and timeless documentary photography style and art forward approach and wanted to hire me to photograph their wedding I was SO excited.

These two met in 2010 while working at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Sean would pop over from the museum’s cafe to visit Alanna at the Art Cart to say hi, and bring her pastries and coffee. They remained friends for a few years but always knew it had the potential to turn into more. A few years later, Sean returned to working at the MFA and once again ran into Alanna while she was teaching art in the galleries. After doubling back a couple times, he worked up the courage to approach her and ask her on a date and the rest was history! They quickly bonded over their mutual love for cooking, art, old cars, and how deeply they cared for their families.

It was only appropriate that these two had a beautifully designed wedding with many nods to the museum they met at. They hosted a wedding celebration with their friends and family at Dragonline Studios in Jamestown, Rhode Island in July of 2023 (sadly the last year that weddings were offered at this stunning venue!) They got ready in the stunning loft-like studio space, had a first look overlooking Narragansett Bay, and gathered for a ceremony also along the ocean. They danced the night away under a beautiful sailcloth tent and had a delicious barbeque dinner by Keane’s Wood-Fired Catering

One of my favorite parts of this day was all of the thoughtful decor and personal touches incorporated on the day. Alanna hand painted all of the signs throughout the space (she’s an incredible artist!) including a replica gallery wall of the MFA to create a unique seating chart for guests to interact with. They also created a beautiful space to honor their loved ones who had passed away by hanging up photos and twinkle lights on trees that guests could interact with – it was so touching. They even had a Del’s Lemonade truck in honor of Alanna’s father who had passed, a perfect refreshing treat for guests and reminder of his presence. Take a look below to see an inside look at this stunning wedding.
